Purchasing provides diverse support services including procurement of
all commodities and services, contract administration, acquisition and
management of City leases and property, and the City's mail distribution
service. The staff is responsible for ensuring that the City complies
with all State bidding laws in addition to soliciting as many bids as
possible to receive the lowest price available. This division also
conducts auction sales for disposal of surplus goods and property, as
well as items confiscated by the Police Department.
Almost half a million people call the greater
Beaumont area home. Beaumont, with a population of
114,000, is the region's largest city and the seat of
Jefferson County. Jefferson County, Hardin County, and
Orange County are home to 385,090 residents.
