DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions: Patrols park to ensure that citizens are aware of Park Ranger's presence; assist citizens in using park facilities; picks up litter, empties large trash barrels and cleans restrooms; checks reservations of shelters and recreation buildings; checks gates, drinking fountains, nature trails, picnic table and area on the trails; reports violation of city ordinance infractions or misuse of park facilities to Police Department; reports faulty equipment and unsafe park conditions to Park's Office; checks out and reports citizens complaints.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Works inside and outside in all kinds of weather; may be exposed to traffic, noise, dirt; must be available to work Saturday and Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m, approximately 19 hours a week, hours may change.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge: Some knowledge of manual tasks involved in custodial duties; knowledge in the operation of a motor vehicle; some knowledge of safe work habits.
Skills/Abilities: Skilled in the operation of a car and pick-up truck; ability to perform manual labor and operate custodial tools used for cleaning the various areas; ability to use a paper stick for general maintenance; ability to use safe judgement; ability to interact with citizens when enforcing the Park rules and checking out complaints; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Physical Requirements: Essential: Constantly sees and hears; frequently drives, cleans, walks, carries, pulls or lifts objects weighing up to 40 lbs., stands, squats, stoops, twists body, holds objects weighing up to 20 lbs, or drags objects weighing up to 50 lbs.; infrequently crawls, kneels, runs, sorts, climbs, and pushes objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
Education/Experience: High School graduate or equivalent; six(6) months experience performing general custodial duties or labor work.
Other: Must possess a valid Class C driver's license with a good driving record. Other state valid Driver's License equivalent to Texas Class C with a good driving record will be considered. Texas state law requires within 30 days of residency, you must possess a valid Texas driver's license. Applicant selected for hire will be subject to a background investigation and drug/alcohol screen test.
