Technology
Services is responsible for planning, development, management, and
administration of the City's information technology systems, providing
citizen-oriented and cost-effective technology services to City
departments. City-wide systems include a multi facility wide area
network (WAN), composed of two IBM iSeries computer systems, 15 Servers,
Lotus Notes email Internet and Intranet servers, windows technology with
a frame relay and ATM telecommunication infrastructure utilizing T1 and
DSL connections, and supports and maintains over 1,800 pieces of
equipment and 1,156 software applications. This Division provides
training and support to 1,300 users, supports a full array of services
including Financial, Public Safety, web page design, imaging, and mobile
computing.

Beaumont area home. Beaumont, with a population of
114,000, is the region's largest city and the seat of
Jefferson County. Jefferson County, Hardin County, and
Orange County are home to 385,090 residents.
