Our purpose is to work in partnership with the community to promote health, safety, and well-being. We provide Public Health, Social, and Environmental Health services for Jefferson, Orange, Hardin, and Chamber Counties and serve a population of millions.

  Hot summer weather brings mosquitoes to South East Texas.  These pests can carry diseases including West Nile Virus, which has been found in our counties’ mosquitoes, horses, birds and humans for the past two seasons. The best way to reduce your chances of getting infected is by avoiding mosquito bites.  West Nile virus is a risk you can do something about with a few simple steps.
