Ward 1 Councilmember

Dr. Alan B. Coleman
Dr. Coleman established his general dentistry practice in his hometown, Beaumont, Texas, in 1983. His practice provides preventative, restorative, cosmetic and implant services.
Dr. Coleman has been married to Julie DuBois Coleman for 28 years. They
have three sons: Steven, Chris and John. Steven and Chris are employed
locally. John is working in Austin, Texas. The family
enjoys soccer, water sports, snow skiing, hunting and fishing.
Dr. Coleman and his wife are active members of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Dr. Coleman currently serves as the Chairman of the church's
Administrative Board. They have both attended Golden Triangle Emmaus Walks.
Dr. Coleman and his wife are dedicated to the Young Life Christian ministry. They have hosted Young Life club at their home and love bringing the Word to our youth
and serve on the Area Committee.
In 2011, Dr. Coleman’s family was honored as “Family of the Year” by Family Services of Southeast Texas for their contributions to improve the lives of families in our community.
Dr. Coleman is the founder of Southeast Texas Hands For God Ministry,
Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. In October 2010, Dr. Coleman
and his wife traveled to Haiti to provide dental care to refugees. In
June 2011, Dr. Coleman and his wife traveled to the Rosebud Sioux
Reservation, in Mission, South Dakota, to provide free restorative
dentistry.
In 2008, Dr. Coleman traveled to Cote D'Ivoire, Africa on a United Methodist Church mission trip to distribute malaria nets and provide life-saving vaccinations.
For 11 years, Dr. Coleman coached 19 soccer teams and 11 baseball teams with his sons. He has impacted the lives of over 400 soccer and baseball players. In 2006, Dr. Coleman’s soccer team finished second in the state.
